U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders

We still have 29 million people who have no health insurance. You have millions of people who have $5,000 deductibles. That means that people hesitate to go to the doctor when they should go. We are the only wealthy country on Earth that doesn't guarantee health care to all people as a right. Yet we spend far more money per capita on health care than anybody else. And our health care outcomes are not all that good compared to other countries. So where does that leave you? The conclusion is, we should move toward a national health care program, which I believe should be in the form of a Medicare-for-all, single-payer-system.
